They Might Be Giants

Here come the 123s!

I was driving down the road today when I realized that Keyan was long gone asleep and I was still jamming along to his CD. I couldn't help it; the music on here is so much fun. Keyan loves listening to it, and it doesn't get annoying for me and Jonathan!  (Thank you, Tina, for sending it for Keyan's birthday!)

Anyway, I thought I'd share a link with portions of these fun tunes- just click on the picture. Maybe you'll find yourself jammin' along, also :)

A Day Outdoors...

It was so nice to spend the entire day outdoors today- climbing trees, playing tetherball, going down slides, and just being together as a family.  Isn't that what summer's all about?!
I loved climbing trees as a kid.  Although Keyan is young enough to still need a little boost, I was happy to see he liked it too.
Just horsing around...
My brothers and I used to do this all of the time as kids... in the pool.  This probably wasn't as safe, but it was still fun :)
Sliding...
Playing tetherball (he's a regular Napoleon)...
And just enjoying the great outdoors!

Ba-Woons!

We love going to the balloon festival each year!

It is so beautiful watching such vibrant colors fill up the sky.
Evidently, Keyan overcame his fear of Smokey with a high-5.

In fact, Smokey turned out to be his favorite balloon.
(this was Keyan's reaction to Smokey last year)

Now that's what a call a euphemism :)

Party @ the Park

So for my birthday today, Jono made some yummy sandwiches and we had a picnic at the park. It was so much fun!

Keyan must have been feeling adventurous, because he climbed across a set of monkey bars (which he has never even come close to attempting before).

Our camera doesn't have sound, but when Keyan climbs onto the platform and raises his arms,
he is shouting, "I did it! Yay! I did it!"

There is seriously nothing so sweet as the pure joy of a child.

And all I wanted for dessert was some fresh cherries, so that was my birthday "cake" :)

The Zoo

Keyan has two cousins all born within a few weeks of each other, so we had a big family birthday party this past Saturday at the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City.

We saw lots of animals,
but the bird show was by far the coolest thing that day.  The birds are trained to orchestrate the entire show on their own (they took their cues from the music on the overhead speakers).  We had perfect seats, too. The birds grazed our heads several times as they swooped over the audience.

To finish off the day, we rode the Zoo Train-
nothing spectacular for Jono or me, but Keyan was fascinated by it, so I guess it was worth the three bucks :0)
