Already we have been throwing names around. In fact, we picked up The Baby Name Bible and have been browsing through it... and wow, have we been getting some insightful feedback. Not just from the authors, but from Keyan. Whenever we open the book, Keyan comes and sits down next to us, puts on his hilarious thinking face (I wish I had a picture! A totally pensive expression with index finger rhythmically tapping the chin), and starts pouring out name suggestions. Here are a few he's proffered:
- Oranges
- Cheetos
- Arthur (not too far out there, true... but referring to a favorite TV show)
- Little Einsteins
- Basketball
- Tigger & Pooh
Today, Keyan brought me the book, saying he wanted to pick names again. Then after naming some of the regulars (Oranges, Milk), he said, "Mmmmm... how 'bout.... B-R-U-I."
I would say that this is why the baby naming is best left to the adults.... but there are some parents out there who give their children totally outrageous names!
For example...
There was a couple in New Zealand that named their daughter Tallulah Does The Hula From Hawaii. Yes, that was her legal name (I heard the story because the girl had to take her parents to court to have her name changed because she was underage). Then there are all the horrid examples in Freakonomics, like Lah-mon-ja-lo and Or-awn-ja-lo (spelled Lemon and Orange Jello).
Thinking about it... I suppose Keyan's suggestions are mild in comparison :)

I think you should go with Orange :) Can't wait to see you guys again!
That is so funny. We got the craziest names from Bryant when Michael was on the way. A lot like yours....Bob the Builder, etc. Once we decided on Michael, Bryant wanted to add to it. He came up with Michael Jackson, which made us laugh so hard that he didn't let it go for months. We don't listen to Michael Jackson, or talk about him.......I'm not sure where he pulled it from.
yeah orange... you could be like the stars and name your baby after fruit... "apple" worked for chris martin from coldplay!
